The piece is contemporary and benefits from exposure to light making it ideal for modern interiors and settings as an original and eye catching addition which is also highly functional. The shattered glass is permanently sealed within a solid timber frame and between toughened glass to ensure that no sharp or dangerous edges are exposed.

The panelled construction of the piece means that it can be built to any dimensions, whilst  various timbers can be used for the frames helping the piece to sit comfortably within your space.

The reflection and refraction created by light passing through shattered glass was the inspiration for ‘Impact’. Whilst smashed glass is usually associated with destruction, it has an inherent beauty both in the patterns created by the cracks themselves and from light shimmering off of it. These combine to subtly create the appearance of movement and it was this that Jason has attempted to capture and utilize in a positive, constructive form.

Every effort has been made during the construction of the piece to use timber which has been produced in an environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial manner whilst allowing economically viable management of the world’s forests. The Sycamore used in this particular piece has been grown and processed on the Isle of Wight.
