‘Infinity + 1’ is designed to be a piece of functional sculpture. It is a development of ‘Infinity’ (Below) and similarly although its design is contemporary, many of its design influences are natural, organic, and traditional. Jason has a particular love of water, which is reflected in the table’s flowing form. The infinite structure and crisp, sleek lines come from a respect of purity and honesty.
Every effort has been made during the construction of the piece to use timber which has been certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council as being produced in an environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial manner whilst allowing economically viable management of the world’s forests. The plywood used in this particular piece has been sourced from Finland as it is not produced in Britain due to its specialist production techniques.

The table is a hand crafted, laminate construction. It has a central core of 0.8mm birch aircraft plywood, and two face layers of veneer. These materials are both very thin and consequently extremely flexible, whilst the alternate grain alignment within the plywood gives the piece an almost unbelievable strength considering its dimensions and minimal weight. The table’s flexible construction and veneered finish make its size, and colour equally flexible, allowing it to be custom built for any space.
