The pattern made by a falling drop of water was the inspiration for the ‘Splash’ table. Many of Jason’s design influences are natural, organic and traditional, and he is particularly attracted to water. He has used oak, which raises water from the forest floor to the highest levels of the tree canopy, to recreate the splashing effect of a droplet falling from a great height into a forest pool. Jason has captured a fleeting moment in time and preserved it in a piece of furniture that will last well into the future.

Every effort has been made during the construction of the piece to use timber which has been produced in an environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial manner whilst allowing economically viable management of the world’s forests. The Oak used in this particular piece is over 300 years old and has been grown and processed in the New Forest, an ancient hunting forest in the South of England.
